I have worked in the area of psychology for over 10 years, with significant experience working as a behavioural therapist, and a focus over the last four years working with clients experiencing mental health difficulties. I am also a qualified and experienced primary school teacher.
I am a naturally empathic, compassionate and non-judgemental psychologist.
My research interest has focused on exploring emotional regulation, attachment and compassion-focused therapies. This research suggests innovative and cutting-edge treatments, building on CBT and mindfulness therapies, which appear particularly helpful in treating those who are experiencing issues with depression, perfectionism, self-esteem, shame, addiction, parenting, relationships and childhood neglect and/or abuse.
I also utilise a range of other therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Positive Psychology strategies and principles.
